1. Live Guest Fashion Illustratorย (Julie & Mike), photos by Front Room Photography
A new trend we see often at weddings is the โLive Painterโ during the wedding ceremony. But have you
ever seen a Live Guest Book?
Julie & Mike celebrated their Big Day at the Milwaukee County Historical Society. Wanting to incorporate something unique during their reception as a little โthank youโ to the guests attending, they invited a Live Artist to set up shop. The couple had Ivy McConnell (@Ivysillustrations) โ a Live Fashion Illustrator โ set up a table outside their main reception space on a balcony. There, Ivy would work with guests in 4 easy steps:
1.Guests snap a live photo or selfie
2. They send the photo to Ivy
3.She works her artist magic
4.The guests (or couple) receive a true-to-picture drawing
Whether you let your guests take these keepsakes home, or you use this as your guest book and have
them sign their names, itโs sure to be an amazing and unique experience for all!
2. Irish Dancers (Meghan & Justin) photos by Carly McCray
Looking to incorporate your heritage into your reception? Most cultures and ethnicities are perfectly captured in the art of music and dance.
Meghan & Justin took pride in the brides Irish heritage, and wanted a special showcase right before their dance party to surprise guests. They invited a local Irish dance troop (Meghan was once a member!) to perform on their spacious dance floor as guests crowded around. The guests couldnโt contain their excitement during the surprise by cheering as the groom made a special appearance and took to the stage as well!
3. Polaroid Guest Book (Meghan & Mike) photo by Twin Lens Photography
Itโs not uncommon to see Guest Books come in many shapes and sizes. Weโve helped couples design acrylic sheets with custom artwork, wood signs with enough space for names, but one of our favorite recent creations came in the form of a custom polaroid book.
During Meghan & Mikeโs reception, guests were encouraged to use provided polaroid cameras to capture a moment in time and add their photo to an album laid out. There, they could paste in their freshly printed picture, and write a small note to the couple to look back on in years to come.
By the end of the night, the album was filled to the brim with memories, and proved a more interactive way of taking pictures for the guests to enjoy.
Itโs always fun to incorporate a special surprise for guests on your Big Day. We love brainstorming with our couples to find a unique way to showcase their personalities and engage guests throughout the night! Donโt be afraid to think outside the box โ it makes youโre Day more memorable in the long-run.
