Isabella & Larry's Vibrant Rooftop Wedding
In our months of wedding planning together, I would come to witness the deep, electric love and friendship between Isabella and Larry on multiple occasions. It kept them strong as we had to postpone their June celebration and reimagine a wedding in times of Covid-19 with hefty Chicago restrictions. Not once did the spark dim for these two lovebirds as we crafted a safe and intimate rooftop gathering with their nearest and dearest. What unfolded before us was a stylish wedding day filled with vibrant color, lively music, and a huge outpouring of love and family.
Setting the Scene
Their jewel-tone palette in shades of blush, magenta, coral, and touches of blue, created an eclectic swirl of color and atmosphere on the rooftop of Lacuna Lofts 2150, while still highlighting the Chicago skyline. Now a building that highlights Chicagoโs dynamic and diverse creative sector, it was at one time the worldโs largest macaroni factory.ย On Bella and Larryโs day, it served the most stunning, far-reaching views of Chi-town as friends and family witnessed their union and later celebrated to golden hour and beyond.ย
The Bride
Let me begin by saying Bella and Larry are fiercely in tune with great taste in food, music, and cocktailing, and this carried through to their flawless wedding looks as well. Bella turned heads in a bridal look that was utter perfection. Paired with a red lip, crystal chandelier earrings, and deliciously wavy hair, Bella stunned in a fully beaded sheath Rita Vinieris wedding dress.ย
The Groom
Larryโs navy suit by ESQ Clothing was a handsome compliment to his glowing bride, with a custom-made lining of their favorite photos and memories together.ย
The First Look
There are so many moments that stand out to me from this day; the anticipation of their first look, which took place across the street from the Hoxton, where a joyous and tearful exchange of private vows ensued.
The Wedding Party
The Ceremony
The Reception
The musical riffs between their band, Illville Vanguard, and DJ Sye Young; their exciting fusion of jazz and soul had everyone grooving. The color-rich floral design and signage concepts by Flowers for Dreamsโ Jason Williquette. Exotic garden flowers such as king protea, peonies, and dahlias, accented with texture and lush greenery, were woven throughout the rooftop in a final look that was strikingly vibrant and romantic.ย ย

The First Dance
The most angelic group of flower girls, led by Larryโs daughter Londyn, excitedly dancing around Bella in a level of admiration and love so pure and sweet.
And finally, the quiet moments when Bella and Larry snuck away at sunset to relish in a day that previously felt like it would never come. These two waited with patience and grace for their wedding day and when it finally arrived, nothing could stop this sweet union.ย The love that surrounded these two on their big day was truly a sight to behold, and one that I will never forget.ย It is families like these that remind me why I became a wedding planner. Thank you to all of the fantastic vendors who made this beautiful day happen!ย For an intimate look into Bella & Larryโs wedding day, take a peek at their wedding day teaser by Character D Films here.
